SMELT's glazes were developed by ceramist and ceramics teacher Nora Nuyts.

These glazes have proven their worth in her courses for years. They are really very stable and will rarely disappoint.

They achieve the best results at Cone 6 (1220-1240°C), but do not show extreme running even at slightly higher temperatures (up to cone 8)

The only determining factor for success is the thickness of the glaze layer. That's why we developed a free mini-course for novice ceramists so that they will never be disappointed when opening the kiln again.
