Our story

Our dream was to create a community for makers, hobbyists and the clay curious where each person would experience ceramics at their own pace. And it has come true….
The primary focus is our shared studio facility for members to practice, develop and produce. We offer in house mentoring, member based sharing and learning and open clay themed events to explore clay based processes. We also have a small studio gallery/shop to showcase members’ work.

Our secondary focus will be creating a comprehensive course and workshop program that delivers quality training for small groups at affordable prices. The missing ingredient at many courses is practice time, at The Ceramic Centre we think this is essential and will make multiple independent practice sessions an integral part of our educational program.

We also have a wonderful Glaze Lab with all the ingredients needed to design and develop custom glazes. Application, fit and firing can and do affect how glazes react. To avoid disappointment testing and interpretation of the results is essential.

We have added a much needed firing service for the wider pottery community. If you need to have pieces fired please reach out to us, we are here to help and inform.

Want to check us out? Drop in on Saturdays or Sundays (10:00 – 18:00) to have a look around and we can tell you more about our plans and how the studio works.
