Sibelco Smooth White Throwing Clay (WM) – Stoneware

A truly wonderful smooth white clay. It’s plasticity makes it perfect for throwing. This clay turns exceptionally well at the leather hard stage, and burnishes to a perfect sheen. It fires to a creamy off white colour at stoneware temperatures.

Unfired characteristics: Extremely plastic and smooth. A light grey out of the bag.

Working notes: It has a very long working time, and is much more plastic than some other white clays. It is a good alternative to porcelain for those that want to work with a white clay body but without the difficult working properties porcelain is known for.

Texture – Very Smooth

Fired colour – Off White

Ideal bisque – 999°C

Glaze range -1200°C to 1300°C

Shrinkage – 1200°C – 5.8% (Please refer to Technical Data Sheet for further information)

Available in either 1kg, 5kg, or 10kg

Ideal for throwing.
